What We Say
Assorted Internet is not well known, which is a shame, because their
offerings are quite decent. Not as cheap as some of the others, but
not as expensive as the big boys. They have a reputation for being
willing to go above and beyond to keep their customers happy. Another
plus is that their servers run RedHat 9, instead of the two-year old
RedHat 7.2 that is favored at a lot of other shops. Linux has
progressed a lot in two years and it is nice to see a shop worry about
being up to date. If you don't care about having a brand name that
everyone else knows and just want a solid provider, Assorted may be
your shop.

Our lineup of dedicated servers offers a range of different configurations to meet any needs. For a lower cost solution, look to our Intel Celeron based servers. If you're looking for the most power you can purchase for a reasonable price, consider our AMD Athlon XP+ or Intel Pentium 4 based servers.
If you need to be absolutely sure your data will be safe, even in the event of a server failure, consider our RAID servers. These servers utilize RAID 1 technology to create complete mirrors of all data on the server on 2 drives at one time. This ensures that in the event of a single disk failure, your server will continue to operate normally and data will not be lost.
- Complete Server and Network Monitoring
- Downtime costs money. Every minute your server is down could be a sale lost and a visitor who goes to your competition's web site instead.
We proactively ensure your Dedicated Server is up and running at all times. How? We do it with three different tools.
First, every server monitors itself. We install a special software tool called chkservd. The chkservd software is configured to monitor the critical services on the server every few minutes. If it finds a service down or non-responsive, it automatically restarts it - and dispatches an email to the server owner. In many cases if a service, such as the Apache web server stops responding, chkservd will automatically restart it, and you'll never know it was down at all.
Second, we monitor all servers constantly using our internal monitoring tool. This tool checks the status of all servers every 5 minutes, all day. Through the network and server status page, our technicians get a clear view of the status of all servers. Should a problem ever arise, it is quickly noted and addressed.
Third, we contract with WebSitePulse.com, a 3rd party automated monitoring service to monitor each and every server 24/7/365. WebSitePulse.com checks that all servers respond via HTTP and SSH every 5 minutes, all day, every day. WebSitePulse.com performs these server checks from two different remote locations, one in Miami, Florida, USA and the other is from Los Angeles, California, USA. If at any time a server fails to respond, our technicians get notified automatically via pager - and they immediately start working on the server to resolve the problem.
All of our technicians have pagers that they carry 24 hours a day. If there is a problem, we get notified right away and we get on it right away. Chances are, if there ever is a problem - we will already be working on fixing it before you know it exists.

- Full root access is standard on all of our Dedicated Servers. With root access you are in complete control - you can literally do anything you want to on the server. This includes things like install custom software, make configuration changes and more.
- Basic Server Management Included
- We provide basic server management support for all of our dedicated servers. Shown below is a list of included server management services. Server management services not specifically listed are not included with the cost of the server - but can be contracted for a reasonable, negotiated fee. Using WHM and CPanel you can perform all of your server management tasks directly through the WHM and CPanel web browser interfaces. No logging into a cryptic command line and no previous server management experience is required.
The WHM and CPanel software includes automated processes to perform software and Operating System patches automatically. Whenever a new patch or software version becomes available, it is installed for you automatically. There is no need to keep track of patches, vulnerabilities, and software updates. The server will do it all for you, automatically.
